happy hallowe’en

A Hallowe’en scene made by my son Azlen in Vector Designer.

On the one hand, it has been a tough month. One with bad news and accidents. One of which was: I got rear-ended this week. Why does Hallowe’en week have to be such a nightmare.

On the flip side we made Yip Yip costumes. ( Yip Yip Yip Yip Yip). Everyone was involved in the making. Now my house has curly fleece everywhere (Yip Yip Yip Yip). The synthetic material looks like sparkles on black clothes. (Uh huh Uh huh).

This analogy works for writing: it is fun doing it, but then you have to deal with the shedding, the fallout of this transformative activity. Trying to figure out what is this image, this transformation that’s developing form your efforts. (For coming up with the analogy on the spur of the moment, it kind of works.)

So we are currently invaded by Martians, and even more inconveniently we are invaded by synthetic fibre. On top of that I have misplaced my Earth Book (Book Book Book).

For those of you who do not know about these beloved Sesame Street creatures (Nope Nope Nope Nope), here are a few skits.

and

And a selection of photos of the Yips that shed in my house. Green Martian (on the way to a Hallowe’en party) buckled in the back of the car. Blue and Green Martian discover things at Hallowe’en party.

Can you believe I have also made about eight banana bread loaves this week for various celebratory occasions and fun(d) raisers, of which I have had only a couple of slices.
Hope you have a safe and fun Hallowe’en.
Hope we get a new car soon.

    Such awesome costumes!

I saw a couple of these at the Parade of Lost Souls today, but the colours didn’t match the ones in the photos – there are more Yip Yips patrolling the streets of Vancouver, it seems!

    Happy Halloween!

Oh, then I better watch out what colour Yips I bring home today:-)

Saw two more at the football game today! Looks like you caught the hot trend! Or maybe that was you under there… :)

Definitely Not-Me. I have been trying to dress up as myself all my life, and still working on it.
