Visible Verse Festival 2010

Posted by Daniela Elza on Nov 20 2010

I want to encourage you to go check out the second day of the Visible Verse Festival 2010. This is today at 7pm at the Pacific Cinémathèque, located on 1131 Howe Street.

Why second day? Why did I not post this yesterday. Because it seems there is not enough hours in the week, and I appear to be late for most things these days.

Come today not just because I have a video poem showing, but because I went yesterday and had a great time watching the many ways you can see a poem. I also enjoyed Ellyn Maybe‘s live performance. She cracked us up with her Picasso and her Being an Artist poems (Being an Artist is incidentally showing today as a video poem).

Tonight will begin with a retrospective 2003 to 2009. Then there is an intermission, followed by a live poetry performance, followed by the screening of this year’s selection.
There is also a free panel discussion Seeing the Voice: The Evolution of Video Poetry from Cocteau to YouTube at 4pm today to which I will try to go to as well. So come.

For the schedule today (Day 2) please go to the Cinémathèque website here.

Hope to see you at this unique Vancouver event.
