one day at a time
Posted by Daniela Elza on Mar 05 2011
Lately the weather has been so volatile, changeable. One moment it hails, the next the sun comes out. One day it is thick with snow, and the next it is like spring. Winds and calm. Sometimes all four seasons in one day. Life too. I let it all wash over me. Trying to slow down against all odds. Kick the busy mind out for a bit. Enjoy each variation. Each turning. Turning my mind back to poetry. Reading the Cinnamon Peeler by Michael Ondaatje. Enjoying small bouts of freedom and chocolate too. Revisiting drafts of things past.
In a nutshell: Remembering what it feels like to write new things.

Well, I said remembering what it feels like to write. Not quite there yet with actually writing. Scribbling for sure… :-)
I think I really have to get stubborn about it though…

Nothing to do with the weather or even writing per se — but a huge glass of virtual champagne to celebrate your manuscript finding such a perfect home! Congratulations, Daniela! Along with some cinnamon toast…

Thank you, Heidi. I am excited about it and looking forward to the process of getting it ready. With thesis out of the way, editng will definitely be more enjoyable.
