earth hour

Today at 8:30-9:30pm local time is Earth Hour. Of course, you can go beyond that and even forget to count the minutes and hours. That does tend to happen when you are chatting around candlelight. Or go out for a nice long walk.
The other day in the dark I stumbled upon a street that was in full bloom with cherry blossoms. I smelled them first. Looked up, and saw them in the street lights. Have you noticed they are out? If not, it is time then for your earth hour.
Some places advertise they will be broadcasts for Earth Hour coverage. Isn’t that missing the point?
Get off your email, your electronic devices, open you ears to the sounds of birds. Ok, maybe there are a few birds only, but still at least hear those. Put your dog on a leash and give the wild life a break.
Turn off your lights
sit in the dark for a bit,
see what arises,
see what surprises you
into being present
in the moment.
See you there.
