How do subtlety and imperfection relate to beauty?
This morning I listened to the audio lecture “Beauty: Glimmers in the Muck” by Barbara Hurd. And it was good.
Because I am interested in this tension between our senses and our need to make sense
the beach with its fragments
in the experience of beauty and poetry’s ability to paradoxically point
in form and in permeability
the cave with its joints and fractures and the dark where coherence breaks down…
