what’s up?

There has been so much going on the literary scene in Vancouver. I am constantly between readings, submissions, presentations, and now really working on my manuscript. Yes. The crows are calling. Honestly, I am working on it.

I usually write about these events after they happen. Rob Taylor is much more reliable source and much more organized and gets them up before they happen. Even days before. So thanks for that Rob.

This Thursday I will at the launch of Poetic Inquiry. Do not have much information as to the format, but you are invited to a gathering of faculty, students, community and artists committed to, or interested in, artful inquiry. All are welcome. Time: 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Date: Thursday, November 5 (this is today:-)). Location: Faculty, Staff & Grad Lounge, Rm 2414, 4th floor Scarfe Building, UBC.

This Saturday I will go to the The Marion Scott Gallery which in collaboration with Leaf Press presnents POET AND PAINTER: A NORTH COAST COLLABORATION— an event featuring writer Leanne Boschman and illustrator Edward Epp who collaborated on the book, Precipitous Signs: A Rain Journal (Leaf Press, 2009). Saturday, November 7 at 3:00pm. The Marion Scott Gallery, 308 Water Street.

And on Sunday I am looking forward to hearing Aislinn Hunter read from her new book A Peepshow with Views of the Interior. This will be co-launch with Miranda Pearson‘s latest book Harbour.
So this Sunday, November 8th, 7 PM, at the Chivana Restaurant and Lounge, 2340 W. 4th Avenue, Vancouver.

And finally next Thursday the 12th of November will be the launch of 4poets at the Robson Reading Series. To which it would be lovely if you all come. All four poets will be there reading from the book. This being the second launch after the one at the VPL. (Vancouver Public Library, main branch in September).
Hopefully I will see some of you at one or more of these events. They are all free.
