In the mean time, I am not waiting

Posted by Daniela Elza on Apr 18 2014

It has been a busy month on many levels. The residency at UFV is over. It left me missing a lot of things I did there and people I met. Katie Stobbart did a nice write up in The Cascade paper of the last event I hosted there: Elza’s final reading reflects growth of community at UFV. Thank you, Katie.

And now even though I am not waiting or sitting still it feel like I am in the waiting place again. This place where you never stop. Ok, ok, I am working on a better description.

In the mean time Room Magazine issue (37.1) came out and it has two of my poems in it: rearranging ourselves and shadow songs. Also a review of milk tooth bane bone got published in Poetry is Dead, The Humour Issue. Thank you Melissa Sawatsky for the review and thank you Poetry is Dead for publishing it. Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy.

The student paper at UFV The Cascade requested an OpEd piece from me which ended up being on the idea of perfection. Here you can read the online post: On Perfection and Creation.

Now back to taxes, paperwork, submissions and CV updates etc. etc. Oh, my. This is what I am doing on Easter weekend, just when the weather turned sunny and inviting again. At least there might be yoga and roof patio time. Send some good energy. I realize the less money we make the more the paperwork. Yes, this out of choice waiting place. Ok, ok, I am working on it.

Hello dear person who hangs out with all kinds of crazy beings in the crowmos. Sending you some good energy. Let’s get together sometime to catch up. I’m still splitting myself between SFU and CityU … which is an interesting split, if splitting is your thing.
