goodbye august

Posted by Daniela Elza on Aug 31 2014

The last week the days have been perceptibly shorter. There is also a bit of a chill in the air. The sun seems lower and no longer slips behind the tree to the right on the roof patio, but rather disappears behind the roof on the left. Just like life, the sun too has shifted. Changes in life are also afoot.

This month I broke two things: my submission record and my yoga record. It roughly works out to 2 yoga sessions per poetry (or other) submission. I have also submitted some short fiction and an essay in the last couple of months. This is new for me. So that is exciting.

I will have some new work (four fragments of my self-p0rtraits series) in the fall issue of The Maynard. Thank you to the editors for giving it a home. It was not too keen on looking. I will meet you in that issue (when it comes out) to celebrate. BYOB.
Check out their current issue and consider submitting.

A couple of events I will be reading at this month:

Maybe I will see some of you there. Hope your summer was fabulous or at least relaxing and here is to a sweet September. I still hope I can get some more patio time before the rains and the cold come. But first, this proposal, this deadline.
